This section of our website provides parents and carers with useful information if you are considering our school or have a child who is a pupil at our school. If you require further information about any of the items shown in this section, please contact the school and we will do our best to help.
All parents are invited into school once during each term to discuss their child’s progress. Parents with those children in Reception and Year 1 will be invited into school without their child. In the 10 minute appointment previous targets will be evaluated and new ones set will be set by the teacher. Children in Years 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are invited to Review Meetings alongside their parents. In these appointments the children are supported to evaluate previous targets and then to set their own challenging targets. These appointments are designed for discussing attitudes to learning, attainment, SEND targets and ways for the children to make progress. If parents want to discuss anything else then they are encouraged to make further appointments at any time in the school year and not to wait until these set times.
Our School Questionnaire
As a school, we will continue to monitor parents’ views on an annual basis via our own questionnaire which is based on the Ofsted questions but which also gives parents an opportunity to add further comments. The results from this questionnaire are analysed and used to help us inform our planning for future improvement. Results are reported back to Governors and Parents.
We do expect that where parents have concerns or are indeed pleased with something we have done, that they tell us directly by coming to see us or by contacting us via their child’s planner, by telephone, email, letter or by using our contact us form. This will enable us to act upon issues immediately.
Parent View is an online questionnaire that allows parents and carers to give their views on their child’s school at any time of the year. Parent View consists of a questionnaire which covers a range of topics to allow parents to give a view about their child’s school on each issue, with a final question as to whether or not they would recommend the school to other parents. The results for each school are published on the Ofsted website in real time. They will then be saved at the end of the academic year so that every school will have an ongoing year-on-year picture available to view.
